With any organizational activity in your community there is always the possibility that a participant may suffer an injury - perhaps just a cut, scratch or bruise . . . or perhaps something much more serious.
If such an accident did occur and an organization wanted to help pay the medical expenses, could its treasury withstand the financial impact? In the case of a serious accident, medical expenses could easily be far in excess of the funds in the treasury!
The Hartford's economical Special Risk Accident insurance can help relieve an organization of this potential problem. It adds little to the budget - yet it provides liberal benefits for each participant.
The Special Risk Accident Program is intended for the unusual type of risk which cannot be covered under one of our regular organization policies, such as Campers, Sports team, Tripster, Volunteer Firefighters and Youth Group. The potential risk should be examined to determine whether or not it falls into one of the above categories, and if so, that program should be used.
This program is designed to cover a specific event or it can cover all of a group's activities during the year. It is ideal for fashion shows, fairs, parades or parade units, outings, picnics, seminars, conventions, fund drives, beauty contests, pageants, card parties, theatrical performances, hay rides, soapbox derbies, concerts, drum and bugle corps, volunteer policemen, civil defense groups, and volunteer workers for schools, churches, hospitals, athletic camps and community celebrations.
This program is not designed for travel exposure (see the Tripster Program). However, individual travel may be included if it is incidental to the organization's primary activity.
See the state availability list for the Enhanced Special Risk Program. For states where the enhanced program is not approved, refer to the Countrywide or NY Special Risk sections.
